Dr. Ara Bagdassarian/Gaurish provided volunteer chiropractic
services to one of the big events put up by the disciples of Sri Chinmoy;
the 6 & 10 Day Self Transcended Race. A short excerpt is written

August 4th 2008:
The Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile race of 2008 is nearing completion.
This year there were 14 runners, a few new comers. Dr. Ara 'Gaurish'
served these runners 3 times a week as they continued their journey
one step at a time to reach their destination of 3100 miles (after finishing
the 3100 miles some chose to do another 6.5 miles to make it a 5000
Km). Due to some unfortunate circumstances 2 runners were unable to
continue, but on the positive note 5 veteran runners, made their personal
best time. They all mentioned that Chiropractic made a visible difference
in their performance.

May 26th - 31 2008:
The 3rd Mission to Serbia was breathe taking. It seems that each
year we are serving more through God and less from self. It was clearly
stated that "I (Dr. Ara 'Gaurish' Bagdassarian) am nothing more
than an instrument used by God and so if there is thanks to be given,
it should be given to God!" However, this did not stop people from
writing testimonials, we did not have them translated, for to do so,
would be to take credit. As most people do not thank the tools they
use to get their jobs done, the tools do not take the credit for doing
the job either. So please humbly forgive us for we could not share their
words with you. But rest assure all left with a smiling face and an
open heart!

December 27 2007:
Dr. Ara took a trip out to Amritapuri Ashram, in Kerala, India Dec
9 - 25, 2007. The Ashram is devoted to Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi,
better known as Amma or Ammachi. This was the 3rd trip to the
Ashram, providing chiropractic services as well as raising money for
the many humanitarian activities that are conducted there. This year
was the most successful for us yet. We had the opportunity to serve
more and raise more money than we have had in any of our previous visits
to the Ashram. Many people were moved by the services and were praying
that we come back next year. We could not provide any pictures for the
event due to the no camera rules of the ashram, as well as the lack
of staff. All in all, the mission was a very unique blending with spiritual
awakenings and meditations with and through Amma, selfless service,
and endless compassion with a mix of hard love to shake up patterns
of belief systems when needed. We thank all of you who consciously focused
your prayers and wishes.
August 6 2007:
Specially chosen, 12 Runners from 9 countries came to take part
in the longest race in the world, The Self Transcendence 3100 Mile race.
This race went on for over 40 days for runners and finished somewhere
between 51-53 days. Runners started at 6am and ended at midnight each
day, rain or shine. In the later portion of the race, Dr. Ara
assisted those runners who sought his attention, providing voluntary
chiropractic services. These athletes were amazing and wonderful beings
of which Dr. Ara felt an honor to be serving.
